THE METAMORPHOSIS - 2020
BERLIN SPANDAU - HAINLEITEWEG 1
The Metamorphosis marked the beginning of Gita Kurdpoor’s journey into large-scale public art.
With no previous experience in spray painting or working on building façades, she embraced the challenge of transforming a 25-metre-high, eight-storey residential building in Berlin.
Over the course of just one week, she translated her intuition, emotions and perception into vibrant forms and colours, learning to work on an entirely new scale.
More than her first mural, The Metamorphosis became a personal turning point, reflecting courage, self-discovery and the willingness to step beyond familiar boundaries. It laid the foundation for the large-scale artworks that followed.
